It's October and, somehow, it’s still warm outside. We’re definitely not complaining because we know how quickly that can change — and once it does, that’s that.
If, like us, you’ve been standing in front of your wardrobe wondering what exactly one wears when it’s chilly in the morning, warm by lunchtime and autumn again by dinner, you’re not alone. Our music has been experiencing something of an identity crisis too. One minute we want something slow, sultry and jazzy; the next, the sun comes out and suddenly it’s house music, something we can dance to, and a completely different mood.
So rather than trying to make October make sense, we decided not to. This month’s playlist is a mixed bag in the best possible way. There’s Tom Misch, Common Saints and Olive Jones for the slower moments; DRAMA, Two Another and NEIL FRANCES when we want a little more movement; and quite a lot of MAX RAD and Snazzy because, frankly, we’ve had them on repeat.
We never thought our October playlist would sound quite like this. But sometimes when life hands you a lack of clarity, the best thing to do is lean into it rather than try to make sense of it.
Press play and enjoy October, whatever mood it happens to be in.
