COPENHAGEN CITY GUIDE

COPENHAGEN CITY GUIDE

Copenhagen is undoubtedly one of the coolest and trendiest cities in the world. Its effortless cool is undeniable, and I speak from experience. Having previously lived there, I can confidently say that my time there improved my life. It transformed my approach to fashion, design, travel, food, and life.

Even after moving back to the UK four years ago, I still visit this city thrice yearly to soak up its energy. I always leave feeling inspired and rejuvenated, with a renewed appreciation, having scoped out great design, eaten the tastiest food, drank the most delicious coffee, seen the best fashion and style, and experienced life being lived to the fullest. Copenhagen truly is a place that feels like a home away from home, and I am grateful for the lasting impact it has had on my life.

Please scroll down to read my Copenhagen City Guide; I hope it will inspire you to discover Copenhagen or provide some fresh ideas if you are planning to visit.

Love, Tofi Caroline xx

Stay here!
Hotel Sanders
This is my favourite hotel in Copenhagen. It's an upscale, immaculate boutique hotel 200 meters from Nyhavn, one of the city's most popular spots. Be sure to check out its bar, Tata, which serves up some of the best cocktails in town against an enchanting backdrop. And if you're visiting during the summer, don't miss the chance to explore its stunning rooftop conservation garden. Trust me, it's an experience you won't forget.

Villa Copenhagen
This upscale hotel opposite Tivoli Gardens is a popular local hotspot. It's a perfect place for a fun night out with regular DJs, live music, and pop-up events. The hotel's elegant decor and attentive staff ensure a comfortable stay. Beyond the entertainment, the hotel’s heated rooftop pool is the place to be during summer.

I lived in this boutique hotel for about three months and enjoyed every moment. The hotel is located near the main shopping street, Stroget. It is only 127 steps from Tivoli Gardens and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek – one of my favourite museums worldwide. Don't forget to visit the rooftop for a breath-taking city view and enjoy a complimentary wine hour between 5 pm and 6 pm.

Scandic Falkoner
This hotel is in Frederiksberg, an area of Copenhagen I love. It's affordable and offers one of my best free breakfasts.

Art – The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
If you're looking for one of the best museums to visit, I highly recommend this one. It showcases contemporary works from 1945 onwards, including pieces by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, which are part of the permanent exhibition. Although you'll need to take a short train ride from Copenhagen Central, I can assure you it's worth the trip. And be sure to stop by the café while you're there - they serve the most delicious carrot cake, and the panoramic views of Sweden are simply breath-taking.
