I recently organised a delightful ladies-only brunch for some incredible women I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know, and I wanted to share some images from that special event with you.
The idea of hosting a ladies-only brunch stemmed from various motivations. First and foremost, I have a genuine passion for hosting events. There’s something immensely satisfying about coordinating the logistics to bring together a diverse group of people, all to create a memorable and enjoyable experience. It allows me to tap into my creativity, whether it's in choosing the perfect location, arranging a thoughtful seating plan, selecting a delicious menu, and crafting engaging activities for everyone to participate in. Additionally, I feel that it’s a beautiful opportunity to showcase the essence of my brand, AJOSEPO, especially to professional working women in the UK, the primary audience I aim to reach.
As a small brand, I'm always mindful of the financial aspects that contribute to the sustainability of AJOSEPO. Naturally, I was operating on a budget for this event, but I managed to assemble an impressive and enjoyable gathering by leveraging a few clever strategies. For example, instead of handing over the planning to an event planner, I took the reins alongside my partner, Miro. This DIY approach saved costs and infused personal touches throughout the event.
For the catering, I turned to some local favourites, picking up a selection of delicious bites from Gail’s Bakery and Waitrose. Their offerings added a lovely touch to the menu, and I knew the flavours would appeal to the diverse palates of my guests. Regarding drinks, I tapped into my collection of wines—some I had gathered on travels abroad and others from my wine subscription service. This kept expenses down and allowed me to introduce my guests to a few of my personal favourites.
The setting for the brunch was equally important, and I was fortunate to use a beautiful lounge area within my residence. It provided an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that encouraged connection and conversation. To add a creative element to our gathering, I sourced candle-making supplies from Ferm Living and various colourful candle pens for us to decorate the candles. This hands-on activity sparked creativity and laughter, contributing to the overall ambience of the brunch.
The event unfolded seamlessly, and I couldn’t have hoped for a more positive outcome. I found it to be truly enchanting. It was heart-warming to see a diverse group of women from unique personal and professional backgrounds come together with enthusiasm for the brand and a shared commitment to making the day as enjoyable as possible. Each interaction felt meaningful as we shared stories and experiences, building a lovely sense of community.
The foundational event for AJOSEPO exceeded my expectations, and I left the brunch feeling inspired and eager to plan the next gathering. The connections made and the joy experienced at this event have solidified my commitment to continue hosting such delightful occasions with women who embody the spirit of AJOSEPO.
