We recently found ourselves back in Copenhagen for 48 hours during Fashion Week. Our third visit this year, which probably tells you everything you need to know about how we feel about this city.

There are few places we return to quite so willingly. The architecture, the food, the design, the fashion, the people — Copenhagen somehow gets an extraordinary number of things right while making it all look completely effortless. It remains, in our opinion, one of the coolest and chicest cities in the world.

Stay at Ottilia Heritage | Compulsory
Our first stay at Ottilia Heritage and, having previously tried fellow Brøchner hotels SP34 and Danmark, this might be our favourite. A large part of that is the location. It was our first time staying in Carlsberg Byen, and we loved seeing a slightly more residential side of Copenhagen. Then there's the hotel itself: industrial, considered and beautifully designed, with an architectural language that feels entirely appropriate for its surroundings. We'd stay again without hesitation.

Breakfast at Hart Bageri Holmen | Compulsory
One of our favourite bakeries in the world. And yes, we mean that. The pastries are exceptional — the kind you think about long after you've left Copenhagen. There are several Hart locations across the city, but Holmen remains our favourite.

A small tip: if you can't make it to Prolog, order your coffee here. They serve Prolog coffee, so you won't be missing out entirely.

Lunch at Hija de Sanchez, Kødbyen | Compulsory
We are yet to find better tacos in Europe. They're not inexpensive — very little in Copenhagen is — but they're very, very good. We'd specifically choose the Kødbyen location, not least because the Meatpacking District is worth spending some time in itself. And should tacos unexpectedly not appeal that day, you're surrounded by plenty of very good alternatives.

Dinner at Bæst | Compulsory
The best pizza we've ever had. That's it. That's the review. Actually, one thing: don't make the mistake of treating Bæst as somewhere to simply order a pizza. Have the starters. Order drinks. Leave room for dessert. Then thank us later.

Coffee at Prolog | Compulsory
Our holy grail of coffee. We've had a lot of very good coffee across Europe, and Prolog remains the benchmark. The coffee is exceptional, the space is unassuming, and the entire experience feels quintessentially Copenhagen. Our preferred way to do it? Pick up a pastry from Hart across the road, find a seat at Prolog and stay awhile.

If we only had 48 hours in Copenhagen, we'd happily do every single one of these again. Which, knowing us, we probably will. Until next time, Copenhagen.
